Begin a morning at Gurdwara Baba Budha Ji with Kirtan, Ardas and Langar in your family’s name.
A Shabad Chownki is a period of continuous Kirtan in the presence of Guru Granth Sahib Ji, held in the stillness of Amrit Vela. Families arrange one to mark a birthday, an anniversary, a new home, a new arrival, exam results, a recovery — in memory of a loved one, or simply to say thank you to Waheguru.
An Ardas is offered on behalf of your family, and the Sangat who gather are served Langar.

Chownkis are not exclusive. More than one family often arranges a Chownki on the same morning, so you can usually have the date that matters to you — including anniversaries, Gurpurabs and other popular dates. Pick your day and we’ll arrange it.
TIMINGS
– Weekdays: Kirtan begins at 5:00am and finishes between 8:00 and 9:00am
– Weekends: a later start — we’ll confirm the time with you
– Langar Seva: preparation starts at 4:00am if you’d like to join
You’re welcome to attend for the whole Chownki or for part of it. Family and friends are welcome to join at any point.

Arranging a Chownki isn’t only a financial contribution. You and your family are warmly invited to carry out Seva on the day: in the Gurdwara kitchen, serving Langar, or wherever help is needed. If you’d like to help prepare the Langar itself, join us from 4:00am. Just let us know and we’ll look after you.
