Why Become a Sewadaar?

Seva is the heart of Sikhism — a divine act of humility, compassion, and unity. Whether it’s preparing langar, helping with cleaning, organizing events, or assisting visitors, every role is equally important in maintaining the spiritual and welcoming environment of our Gurdwara.

By becoming a Sewadaar, you can:

Areas of Seva

You can offer your Seva in many different ways. Everyone is welcome — young or old, experienced or new.

Some common areas include:

  • Langar Seva: Cooking, serving, and cleaning in the community kitchen.

  • Shoe & Coat Area: Helping Sangat with their belongings upon arrival.

  • Darbar Sahib Seva: Assisting in setting up the prayer hall and managing Sangat flow during programs.

  • Cleaning & Maintenance: Keeping the Gurdwara clean, organized, and welcoming.

  • Technical/Media Support: Supporting online live streams, sound system, and social media.

  • Event Support: Helping during Gurpurabs, Nagar Kirtans, and special programs.

Who Can Volunteer?

Anyone with a heart for service is welcome.

  • No specific skills required.

  • All ages and backgrounds welcome.

  • Families, students, professionals — everyone can find a way to contribute.

How to Get Involved

Getting started is simple:

  1. Register Your Interest – Use the Contact form or speak to a committee member during your next visit.

  2. Attend an Orientation – Learn about different Seva areas, health & safety, and what to expect.

  3. Start Your Seva – Join the rota or drop in when you’re free — even an hour of Seva makes a difference
