Our Policies and Guidelines
Donation Policy
- Acceptance of Donations: Nottingham Gurdwara accepts donations in various forms, including cash, cheques, bank transfers, and online payments.
- Designated Funds: Donors may specify how their donation should be used (e.g., langar, building maintenance, community programs). If no specification is made, the Gurdwara will allocate the funds at its discretion.
- Anonymous Donations: Donors may choose to remain anonymous. In such cases, the Gurdwara will respect their wishes and maintain confidentiality.
- Tax-Deductible Donations: Nottingham Gurdwara is a registered charity (Charity number: 1149295). Donations may be eligible for tax deductions. Donors should consult their tax advisors for guidance.
Refund Policy
- Refund Requests: Refund requests must be made in writing (email or post) within 14 days of the donation date.
- Eligibility for Refunds: Refunds will be considered in the following circumstances:
- Error in donation processing (e.g., duplicate transaction, incorrect amount).
- Donor’s change of heart within the 14-day period.
- Refund Process: The Gurdwara will review refund requests and respond within 30 days. Approved refunds will be processed within 7-10 working days.
- Refund Exceptions: Refunds will not be issued for:
- Donations made in memory of someone or for a specific purpose.
- Donations that have already been allocated to a specific project or cause.
